Ernst Häfliger died on 18th March 2007.

 „We mourn for our patron Kammersänger Ernst Haefliger. He died at home in his native town Davos on 18 March 2007. We will miss him! The Concours will be continued in his name and honour. Next competition will be in 2008.”
