Singers who want to take part in the competitions must be born the earliest 1st January 1976. A detailed curriculum should show the education and professional experience of the applicants. Recommendations by teacher or tutors are welcome.

The competition can accept 80 participants. The participants will be chosen trough application (see link “application” Formular) by a smaller group of the jury. If necessary there will be a pre-selection round in the end of June 2008 in Bern.

30 singers will be chosen for the semi-finale. 8 to 10 singers will be chosen for the finale.

The repertory of the competition consists of opera arias only. For the preliminary rounds the candidates can chose any aria. For the Finale the arias must be agreed on with the jury.

The application fee is CHF 100  (ca. € 65) for each participant.

The competition cannot cover any travel and housing expenses for the participants. We will however help you finding a cheap hotel / B&B in Gstaad for the preliminary round. Information will be sent to each participant together with the confirmation of the participation.
